Ember compiles national electricity statistics into a consistent global series and separately tracks stated renewable and clean-power targets by country. DD8's structural note explains why this record matters disproportionately: policy data usually fails on format rather than on licence, and Ember is one of the few sources that publishes it structured and via an API rather than as a PDF.
